In its effort to achieve progress and prosperity for the province of Bataan, Gov. Joet Garcia keeps on pursuing worthy environmental projects. One of the these projects has something to do with Project Transform of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) which has been promoting clean air and green environment.
The reforestation project, waste management program, coastal cleanup, the Baka1Bataan program which aim to plant 34- hectare coastal areas with “bakawan” or mangrove trees which mitigate flooding. The mangroves, the DENR says, also promote the growth of marine lives in the area.
The 1Bataan Pawikan Conservation Alliance Network was established in Morong town to promote pawikan. Already, the pawikan conservationists had collected 326,727 eggs of pawikan since the network was established in 2022. The Air Quality Monitoring System was established in the towns of Limay and Mariveles and in the City of Balanga to monitor the aerial environment. Gov.Garcia said amid the progress Bataan has been experiencing now, his administration will continue to take care of the environment to protect its people and mother nature.
When he was the Mayor of Balanga City, the Gov. Joet launched aggressive campaign against smoking to protect residents against the hazardous effects of tobacco in the human system. The City Ordinance on anti-smoking and selling of cigarettes in local stores is still effect.
